OUR PROUD HERITAGE
Established in December 2013, Tara Hood came up with the idea behind Beauty at the Tannery after witnessing the devastation of the earthquakes.
“I think for a lot of people the earthquake became a real defining ‘chase your dreams' moment. For me it became about creating a beautiful space where people can come and be absolutely pampered from head to toe and have an experience like nothing they have had before. The Tannery, with its Victorian aesthetic couldn’t have been a better fit for my boutique day spa vision.”
The Beauty at the Tannery dream continues to evolve into Beauty at The Vale as of 2024.

The Experience
As you are welcomed into The Vale, your host will show you to your own personal suite and will give you your booking time allowance. Awaiting is a gown and slippers that you will change into ahead of your treatment, before heading back into your suite for a moment of relaxation where your therapist will meet you.
After your treatment you will enjoy a herbal tea, treat and some relaxation time in your suite, with the option of using our amenities to freshen up before having to face the world again. Your host will come in at the end of your time allowance to see you out to reception.
Our nail area and relaxation area are able to open up to become one large space, the perfect space for large groups to interact while enjoying spa treatments. The best way to spend a girly afternoon to celebrate a special occasion or just because.
We have dual rooms available for those wanting to share their spa experience with someone special by having treatments together in the same room.
